Renault Trucks returns to Freight in the City Expo at Alexandra Palace, London on 7th November 2017, and will unveil a host of progressive new vehicles dedicated to meet the challenges of safer, more efficient and more productive operations in urban environments.
Visitors to the Stand (V01) will see a brand-new urban concept vehicle that enhances the Renault Trucks offer with a new C320 8×4 Tridem in 2.3m cab variant and be able to take a look at a Range D18 Wide 4×2 R Low 250 E6 with Boughton’s skiploader body.
Delivering the load capacity of an eight-wheeler with the manoeuvrability of a six-wheeler, the Range C320 Tridem comes with factory-fitted extra axle adaption. Its smaller, lower cab features a factory-fitted vision window and shorter front overhang than competitor vehicles, offering additional manoeuvrability and safety advantages in congested urban environments, while the rear-lifting axle delivers a narrower turning circle that also keeps the truck closer to the kerb when turning left compared to traditional 8x4s, helping reduce the high-risk gap for cyclists.
Robust and fit for the demands of multiple collection cycles, the lowest entry Range D skiploader includes two-step access with a step height of just 375mm. Equipped with factory-fitted vision window in the nearside door, the vehicle is specified with full CLOCS safety system including cycle sensors and the Roadcrew 4 camera system with recorder for safer urban operation.
“Acknowledging the role that direct vision can play in improving safety for vulnerable road users, we are working closely with our customers to develop vehicles that lead the way in reducing operational road risk and increasing productivity,” says Nigel Butler, Commercial Director at Renault Trucks.
He adds, “Our urban concept C2.3 tridem would be suited to a number of construction, logistics, distribution and refuse applications. The combination of the low cab with the tridem rear axle lends itself to use as a walking floor tipper, a concrete mixer or a rigid distribution model where the urban concept’s weight advantages and manoeuvrability will be of particular benefit to operators working in constrained urban environments.”
In addition, on stand V35, Renault Trucks is showcasing two exciting new additions to its pre-bodied LCV ‘Ready for Business’ Range, together with its approved third party convertor, Bri-Stor Systems.
The Renault Trucks Master 3T5 Welfare Van L3H2, designed using new composite materials, provides a comfortable, legally-compliant welfare environment for up to seven operatives, their tools and PPE to be moved to and from site safely within the 3,500kg threshold. Incorporating fully-equipped relaxation area with kitchenette, as well as storage and toilet facilities, the Master Welfare Van meets the growing demand for a versatile yet robust welfare product for construction, infrastructure and utilities projects. Available in FWD, RWD and a new 4×4 driveline, the Master Welfare Van is fitted with Renault Trucks’ efficient 145ps Euro-6 engine and 6-speed gearbox.
Also featuring on this stand will be the new Renault Trucks Master Optilogistics offering –purpose-designed for the operational challenges of the Parcel and Logistics sector, where operatives can make up to 120 deliveries per day. By listening to key industry players, Renault Trucks believes it has delivered the optimum logistics vehicle, available at 3500kg or 4500kg, equipped with a host of safety, compliance and efficiency enhancements that minimise on-road risk for operatives and vulnerable road users on every shift, whilst driving down wear and tear, and repair and maintenance costs for operators.
“Renault Trucks is fully committed to enhancing the safety and efficiency of urban transport and logistics; we acknowledge the role that direct vision can play in improving the safety of vulnerable road users and are delighted to introduce some of our progressive new vehicles at Freight in the City Expo,” comments Nigel Butler. “Powered by our latest Euro-6 engine technology which offers exceptional fuel economy, reduced emissions and lower vehicle noise, the Renault Trucks range, from 2.8-tonnes to 44-tonnes, meets the demands of all businesses that deliver in built-up areas.”
Visitors to both Renault Trucks stands V01 and V53 will also be invited to join in the company’s #proudprofessionals campaign.
