Leading truck manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus UK has put a second vehicle on the road with Wisbech-based Tamar Nurseries Ltd.
Bosses sought the deal on the new MAN TGL12.180 BB Day Cab after being impressed with the TGM 26.290BL Day Cab they took on a seven-year contract through MAN Financial Services in 2015.
Mary Williams, of Tamar Nurseries, said: “Two years ago we decided to lease the MAN TGM 26 tonne truck and we have been very happy with it. We have never had a moment’s bother and because it is on a seven-year contract we know exactly where we stand with payments and outgoings.
“Our six-weekly maintenance checks are all booked in at the start of the year through our dealer Imperial Commercials so we can plan accordingly and the whole system works very well.
“We now have two trucks in our fleet and they are both now MAN. Tamar Nurseries specialises in, and has an established reputation for growing hardy nursery stock ranging from 3lt to 75lt plants specially selected for their horticultural merits and hardiness.
“We are flexible and willing to work with partners to overcome logistical challenges and do a lot of work with local authorities as well as large landscaping projects.”
The new truck has been fitted with a bespoke body by Priden Engineering, which includes a smooth roof so that trees and shrubs are not damaged. It is also fitted with a cantilever tail lift, four-camera safety system as well as near side warning system.
Terry Mashford, MAN sales executive, said: “I am delighted that we were able to meet Tamar Nurseries’ requirements and that they have been so impressed with the vehicle and service they have received since 2015.
“It is testament to the quality of vehicles and customer care that both MAN Truck & Bus UK and MAN Financial Services can offer that they have returned to us to provide this new vehicle.”
