CMG, the breakdown-recovery, transport and logistics operator has reduced its driver infringements and improved overall fleet compliance by using TruAnalysis, the multi-functional fleet management software solution from TruTac.
The company had been using an ‘off the shelf’ package but looked to TruTac for a bespoke system which would provide tighter control and satisfy a wider range of compliance and Earned Recognition criteria.
“Our international recovery and auto transport operation comprises upwards of 45 trailers and 45 tractor units” explains Transport Manager, Rowan Harris, “and it spans most European countries. Therefore, we needed an all-embracing management tool which would enable us to monitor and store driver activity online and to provide a simple-to-use audit trail for compliance records.”
Working with TruTac’s programmer team, CMG introduced the fully web-based digital and analogue tachograph analysis reporting system in just a few days and now, says the company, benefits from powerful KPI reporting for multiple depots, drivers and vehicles.
“Reports can be automatically emailed to any manager or multiple users across the fleet,” adds Rowan. “It was easy to install, it’s simple to use and above all, it’s secure. Not only are we now seeing a reduction in driver infringements but there is also a noticeable decrease in administration – factors which combine to give us a more efficient and compliant operation.”
Alongside its transport and logistics service, which specialises in high volume distribution, plant and agricultural machinery and the mobile leisure home sector, CMG operates over 75 tracked recovery assistance vehicles to support its nationwide breakdown assistance operations.
“Overall,” concludes Rowan Harris, “we have brought infringements down and compliance up. The back-up from TruTac is faultless and they are always looking for the next innovative solution – for example, remote download linked to our own PMI system – a bespoke bolt-on which will give us additional fleet control.”
