Camera Telematics, the leaders in-vehicle camera technology enabling fleet operators to achieve the highest standards of risk management strategies, hasd launched its enhanced Street Angel on-board video evidence data recorder.
The newly enhanced, fully scalable, Street Angel solution delivers fleet operators unrivalled first notification of loss (FNOL) data in the event of an accident or incident on the road, thereby reducing the cost of claims and protecting the business and drivers against incidents of insurance fraud.
Camera Telematics developed the new Street Angel hub (named HBX4), whereby customers have access to an unrivalled five-channel system, an increase of two channels compared to the previous version of Street Angel’s three. Customers can now benefit from a full 360 degrees system ensuring maximum flexibility to monitor cargo, vehicle side, reversing and driver angles, in addition to forward-facing. In addition, the new hub can manage up to a 2TB HHD delivering up to two hundred hours of footage using 5 x FHD 1080p channels.
Street Angel is flexibly equipped for use by fleets operating a range of vehicles, including larger vehicles or vehicles working with high-value goods for asset protection, and presents fleet managers with robust FNOL and driver behaviour scorecards.
The enhanced version of Street Angel already benefits from the recent addition of the Driver ID and panic button solutions, and now offers a comprehensive and cost effective solution, delivering fleet managers access and notifications through a single platform, whether that be via PC or a mobile device, with no human intervention for FNOL notification.
The new version of Street Angel is now available globally and follows the successful launch of the previous Street Angel solution in Ireland in 2016, and the UK in 2019, whereby the technology has made a significant impression on fleet decision-makers with over 200 businesses using Street Angel to mitigate their risk.
When it comes to minimising costs after an incident involving a third party and irradiating the opportunity for false insurance claims, the speed of timing and recording the right information is essential. Research from one of the UK’s leading accident management providers estimate that failing to capture third-party information can inflate overall incident costs by 965%, turning a £1,000 bill into £10,650, while AXA Insurance has seen claims that should have been £5,000 spiral up to £50,000.
Street Angel is unlike any other on-board vehicle cameras; Most offer a variety of functions using multiple pieces of kit, whereby Street Angel is the only solution on the market that includes over twenty essential features all on one device, including:
• An SD-card free device with 128GB of internal memory – SD Card Free – Removing the possibility of SD card failure, or the card going “missing” which will prevent the camera from working when needed most.
• 24/7 Event monitoring as standard – All serious events are reviewed by our team of support staff ensuring that nothing is missed in the event of an incident, this also helps keep the camera/cameras maintained as they will highlight issues such as cameras being covered/obstructed and maintenance issues.
Using superfast 4G connectivity the Street Angel continually transmits data associated with vehicle speed, GPS position and shock axis sensor to a designated SSL encrypted server ensuring your data is safe and secure and in the event of a collision, the unit automatically transmits all its data for that event. This data is accurate and admissible evidence, should it be required to defend or mitigate an insurance claim.
Mark Stamper, Group Managing Director at Camera Telematics, commented: “The enhanced Street Angel the on-board digital camera delivers fleet operators unbeatable peace-of-mind in ensuring safer driving associated with company vehicles, but also unbeatable protection against fraudulent insurance claims. Fleet Managers who adopt Street Angel will have the utmost reassurance of having the most advanced on-board vehicle camera available, which unlike other cameras, uniquely delivers all the features demanded by fleet operators to protect their fleet on one device.
